It's best to cut and paste the text from this forum to the command line in a Puppy Linux "console" window. (Excuse me if you already know all this Unix stuff.) You can check what your current directory is with the "pwd" command. If you omit the leading slash it will try to create usr/lib/libgtk-x11-2.0.so within the current directory, but if there's no sub-directory usr/lib already present it will fail to create the file, reporting the error message that you saw. What the ln command does is to create a link file called /usr/lib/libgtk-x11-2.0.so that simply points to /usr/lib/libgtk-x11-2.0.so.0, so when a program tries to access /usr/lib/libgtk-x11-2.0.so it actually uses /usr/lib/libgtk-x11-2.0.so.0 instead.
